Genesis Electric: A Pioneer in EV Models

Genesis boasts an award-winning lineup of EVs. The brand pays attention to detail, from its ultra-fast charging and high-capacity batteries to its distinctive designs and premium materials.

The Shift Toward Electrification: Why It Matters

Climate change is a significant concern to global leaders. Fossil fuels provide 80% of the world’s energy. Minimizing the use of fossil fuels can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and electrification is an easy and efficient alternative.

Implementing current innovations on an industrial scale is challenging. Genesis has taken on that challenge and exceeded expectations, introducing competitively priced EVs with the luxury and performance you expect.

An In-Depth Look at Genesis Electric Models

Genesis’ lineup of EVs appeals to drivers who want performance and luxury at an affordable price. Both the sedan and SUV segments in the Genesis collection offer sleek, modern styling.

Genesis GV60: Leading the Charge

The 2025 Genesis GV60 introduces dynamic performance with a sporty exterior and driver-focused technology. The model is available in four trims, one with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and the rest with all-wheel drive (AWD). Choose the Standard RWD model and enjoy up to 294 miles of range with a single electric motor that produces 225 hp. The Standard AWD trim adds a second electric motor to produce 314 hp and gets up to 264 miles of driving range.

The Advanced AWD model offers premium upgrades, such as 20-inch alloy wheels and a Bang & Olufsen audio system, while the Performance AWD trim produces 483 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Recharging the GV60 battery from 10% to 18% takes as little as 18 minutes.

Genesis Electrified GV70: A Blend of Style and Efficiency

The 2025 Electrified GV70 uses athletic lines and graceful curves to create a sleek, modern exterior. A 320 kW dual-motor system delivers an exceptional 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque and gives you AWD capability.

The premium cabin’s advanced technology includes fingerprint security and a head-up display. You can drive up to 236 miles on a full charge and recharge the battery in under 20 minutes with a Level 3 charger.

You also have free access to Genesis Connected Services from your smartphone. This suite includes Automatic Collision Notification, the Genesis Digital Key 2, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery.

Genesis Electrified G80: Luxury Meets Technology

Developed from the award-winning G80, the Electrified G80 delivers exhilarating performance with all-electric power. It features intuitive technology in a luxurious coupe package.

The all-electric powertrain uses two 136 kW motors, one in the front and another in the rear, for AWD performance. This powertrain makes 365 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque and has a maximum driving range of 282 miles on a single charge.

Recharging the Genesis Electrified G80 battery takes as little as 22 minutes. You also get a powerful vehicle-to-load charging system that turns your high-capacity battery into a 110-volt power source. You can power almost any home device while traveling, camping, or cruising around Columbia. The Genesis G80 EV has a starting MSRP of $74,375.

Navigating the Core Features of Genesis EV and Hybrid Models

Genesis doesn’t offer a hybrid model in its collection but will produce one soon. The three current Genesis electric cars offer similar core features. The exteriors have a sleek, modern style with an athletic stance that speaks to their power and performance.

Every Genesis EV has an AWD trim to enhance traction and control over various surfaces and weather conditions, providing confident driving in and around Columbia. Their carefully crafted cabins show an intense attention to detail. Premium materials, such as nappa leather upholstery, and sophisticated technologies, such as biometric identification, provide a comfortable, refined driving experience.

Powertrain Options: Electric vs. Hybrid

The GV60 offers two powertrain configurations: a RWD single-motor setup or a two-motor AWD configuration. The single-motor trim puts out 225 hp for efficient performance. The additional motor in the Standard AWD and Advanced AWD models delivers 314 hp. If you want more capability, you’ll love the Performance AWD trim that puts out 429 hp and has a Boost feature that produces a temporary 483 hp.

Future Genesis hybrid models will offer buyers with range and charging concerns an opportunity to confidently enter the EV driving experience. There’s also potential for plug-in hybrid models, which have a gas engine and an electric motor you can recharge at home or on the road.

Charging Capabilities and Infrastructure

There are several ways to recharge your Genesis EV battery. The basic Level 1 charger lets you plug into a standard 120-volt household outlet. Level 1 charging adds three to five miles of range per hour and works well for shorter commutes.

A Level 2 charger uses a 240-volt connection, which boosts your charging speed. You can charge the battery to capacity in under eight hours, making this a popular choice for home charging. You’ll need to install an outlet similar to the one your clothes dryer uses.

Level 3 charging uses direct current power to quickly recharge your car’s battery. You can recharge your Genesis EV in under an hour at most public charging stations. Genesis has a network of charging stations numbering in the thousands nationwide. A new partnership with the IONNA Network adds 30,000 chargers, and Genesis has agreed with Tesla to join its expansive charging station network.
